An honest review of the Aroma Glass Air Fryer

As a self-confessed lazy cook who values convenience, I recently tried the Aroma Glass Air Fryer. My purchase was based on its compact size and glass construction. Previously, I used the Big Boss Air Fryer, which, although also made of glass, was more suited to a large family due to its size. Here’s my honest review based on my experience with the Aroma Glass Air Fryer.

Initial Impressions and Design

The Aroma Glass Air Fryer immediately caught my eye with its sleek design and manageable size, suitable for single people like me. One of the features I appreciated about the Big Boss was its temperature control. This is essential for any appliance that heats food. Unfortunately, this is where Aroma falls short.

Cooking performance

Aroma Glass Air Fryer operates at a predetermined temperature, heating and timing foods accordingly. For example, potatoes are cooked at a fixed temperature for 20 minutes. This lack of temperature control is frustrating and limits the air fryer's versatility.

I found this particularly problematic when cooking muffins. The tops would be seared while the insides remained uncooked. This is a major drawback for anyone looking to bake or cook anything that requires precise temperature adjustments.

Usability

Aroma Glass Air Fryer's size is its saving grace. It's suitable for a single person’s needs, fitting neatly on the counter without taking up too much space. I frequently cook chicken and potatoes, and for these basic uses, the air fryer performs adequately. However, the inability to immerse the fry basket in water for cleaning is inconvenient. Additionally, the handle is glued to the side of the fryer, which raises concerns about its durability over time. I suspect it might eventually fall off with regular use.

Health and convenience

My primary reason for purchasing an air fryer was to support my goal of cooking healthier meals with less oil. While the Aroma Glass Air Fryer achieves this, the lack of temperature control and design flaws make it less convenient than other options.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I rate the Aroma Glass Air Fryer 3 out of 5. For a single person, its size and glass construction are advantages. However, the set temperature and potential durability issues with the handle are significant drawbacks. If you’re someone who, like me, prefers a ‘set it and forget it’ cooking method, but values precise cooking control, you might find this air fryer lacking. It’s a decent appliance for basic cooking tasks, but it leaves much to be desired in terms of versatility and build quality.

If you’re considering purchasing the Aroma Glass Air Fryer, weigh the pros and cons carefully. Its compact size and health benefits are appealing, but the lack of temperature control and questionable durability could be deal-breakers depending on your cooking needs and preferences.
