My Review of the Kawoco Apple Watch Cover: A Mixed Bag of Protection and Paint Chips
As someone who often swings his arms carelessly, I've damaged numerous significant items, from my phone to my camera cover. So, when I received my Apple Watch, it was advised that I find a cover to protect it. Enter the Kawoco Apple Watch cover, recommended by my best friend who meticulously reviews everything before buying. Here's my honest opinion.
First, a confession: I rarely read instructions for straightforward items. Naturally, I had some trouble with the Apple Watch case initially, and figuring out the placement involved trial and error. My attempts to document the process turned into a humorous video, which, though embarrassing, reminded me that we're all works in progress.
Despite the hiccup, I give the Kawoco cover a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The pack includes four covers—two in Starlight Silver and two in black. These covers offer excellent protection for the tempered glass screen, safeguarding it from scratches and damage.
However, there's a downside. During a 30-minute cardio workout, I noticed my skin was covered in glitter. Unfortunately, it was paint chips from the black cover, which peel off due to sweat. As if being sticky from the workout wasn't enough, I had paint chips too. This issue is why I docked a star from my rating.
Currently, I only have one cover left, and I'm reluctant to use the remaining black cover. Despite this flaw, the Kawoco covers are fairly priced at $15 for a pack of four on Amazon. They do their job well protecting, but paint chipping is a significant drawback.
If you're looking for alternatives, consider the Misxi hard case, which costs $9.96 for Apple Watch Series 8 & 7. Other options include the LK 6 packs with anti-scratch and touch sensitivity features or the Smiling 2 packs available for $6.95.
In conclusion, the Kawoco Apple Watch cover provides good protection but lacks durability, particularly compared withthe black covers. For those who don't mind a bit of trial and error in placement and can avoid the black covers, it's a decent buy. However, if you prioritize durability and want to avoid paint chipping, exploring other brands might be worthwhile.
